Meet the team behind the Buckie Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland.
We’re a dedicated group committed to supporting veterans, serving personnel, and our local community. Whether organising events, maintaining the branch, or offering a friendly face, we’re proud to uphold the values of the Legion and keep its spirit alive in Buckie.

Anne
Chair, RBLS Buckie Branch
As Chair of the Committee, my role is to ensure the Legion meets all its operational requirements. I’m particularly involved in securing small grants and supporting both the finance and events teams, with a strong focus on keeping branch activities running smoothly.
I live locally, though I was a frequent visitor to the area for many years before moving here. My professional background includes over 30 years in local government in Lancashire, where I retired as a senior strategic service lead responsible for commissioning people’s services. Before that, I served for nine years in the Women’s Royal Naval Service.
I share my home with my husband, a few lively cats, and our friendly parrot. I also have a son and a step-daughter.

Willie
Treasurer, RBLS Buckie Branch
I’m proud to call this town home, having lived here most of my life and raised my family in the community. I work as a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering and have been connected to the Buckie branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland since I was thirteen.
It all began with the Army Cadet Force, helping with what we used to call “selling poppies” as part of our community service. I was proud to be involved, guided by some remarkable individuals many of whom are sadly no longer with us, though I’m lucky enough to still share a dram with a few.
In recent years, I’ve taken on the role of Standard Bearer for the Buckie branch, which continues to be both an honour and a rewarding challenge. As the Treasurer the branch committee, I hope to be a positive influence and play my part in supporting the continued success of the branch - both now and for generations to come.

Ian
Entertainment & Welfare
My name is Ian Milne but known to everyone as Booboo.I’ve been a member of the Legion for 3 years.

Laura
Bar Stewardess
Buckie has always been my home, and my family’s ties to the Buckie Legion stretch back to the 1960s. My great-grandad served on the committee, and my granny was a regular at the dances - so you could say the Legion is in my blood.
My own journey here began 14 years ago as Assistant Secretary, working in the office before stepping behind the bar. Now, as Bar Stewardess, I’m proud to carry on that legacy. What makes this place special? The people. It’s an honour to serve our members and be part of the community that keeps the Legion thriving.
