About Us

Our Purpose and Principles

At the heart of the Buckie Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland lies a proud and enduring mission: to support, honour, and advocate for those who have served our nation. Rooted in a tradition stretching back over a century, our branch stands as a vibrant testament to the loyalty, camaraderie, and service that define military and civilian life alike.

We are dedicated to:

  • Supporting our ex-Service community: We work tirelessly to prevent and relieve poverty among veterans and their families, providing practical help, friendship, and advocacy whenever it’s needed most.

  • Building a spirit of fellowship: At Buckie, we preserve and strengthen the bond that service instills. Through shared experiences, commemorative events, and social gatherings, we ensure that no veteran is ever left behind.

  • Honouring sacrifice and service: We are committed to keeping alive the memory of those who gave their lives in the service of their country. From solemn acts of remembrance to the proud display of our ceremonial colours, we celebrate a legacy of courage and dedication.

  • Promoting community and citizenship: By fostering cooperation between veterans and civilians, and encouraging public participation in heritage, the arts, and sport, we strengthen the community spirit Buckie is known for.

  • Championing fairness and dignity: We advocate for the just and equitable treatment of all who have served, working to secure their welfare and protect their rights.

The Buckie Branch, like all of Legion Scotland, is proudly non-political and non-sectarian, welcoming all who support our mission of service, remembrance, and community. Whether you served, have family who served, or simply wish to support those who have, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
